Product Description
The caustic soda liquor from electrolyzer is with concentration @ 32%, and is required to be concentrated to 50% concentrated caustic soda or 99% caustic soda flakes accordingly.
A falling film and countercurrent is adopted for concentrating 32% caustic soda up to 50%, and then a cooler for cooling the 50% caustic soda down to normal temperature.
System Configuration
A triple-effect or double-effect countercurrent falling film evaporator is adopted according to the treatment capacity, is simple in porcess and easy in operation;
DCS control system is used for remote automation control;
Regulation valves is used at position which are of higher operation frequency;
The key parameters including temperature, flow rate, pressure, current are displayed on the DCS station, and could be used as signal source of regulation valves.

Process Description
Double-effect /Triple-effect countercurrent and falling film evaporator is adopted to increase caustic soda liquor from 32% to 50%, the cool it to 50% finished product caustic soda liquor. The heating medium is 0.8Mpa (G) saturated live steam.

The 32% caustic soda liquid from outside of battery limit, was readjusted by a regulation valve, flowed into the Effect II falling film evaporator, the concentration was increased up to 39% from 32%. The concentrated caustic soda liquid was pressurized by a Effect II caustic soda pump, then was heated by caustic soda heat exchanger and condensate heat exchanger, then flowed into the Effect I falling film evaporator, and the concentration was increased up to 50%. After concentration, the caustic soda liquid was cooled with caustic soda heat exchanger and caustic soda cooler.
The secondary steam produced flows into the surface condenser and is condensed with cooling circulating water. The non-condensable vapor is sucked by the water-ring vacuum pump.
39% caustic soda liquid is pumped from the bottom of the Effect II falling film evaporator in to the Effect I falling film evaporator by the Effect II alkali pump. In the Effect I falling film evaporator, The secondary steam produced flows into the heater of the Effect II evaporator and acts as heat source.

0.8Mpa (G) saturated live steam as heating steam of falling film evaporator, it entered into the Effect I falling film evaporator, then the secondary steam produced in Effect I falling film evaporator entered into the Effect II falling film evaporator. The secondary steam from the Effect II evaporator entered into the surface condenser and was condensed into condensate water with circulating water, and the non-condensable vapor was pumped out by the vacuum pump.
Effect I falling film evaporator is heated with live steam. The 39% caustic soda liquid was heated by the condensate of the live steam and the 50% caustic soda liquid discharged.
